This Swan pysanky was created with a wax batik method using layers of wax and dye. The design is the teardrop division and includes a mandala like star, diamonds for wisdom, crosses, and triangles for the Holy Trinity.
Each pysanka (decorated egg) I create is done by hand using a wax batik method. Once all wax and dye are applied, the wax is melted off to reveal the beautiful design. The pysanka is then given a coat of UV protective varnish.
