Three Ribbon (Traditional) Goose Egg Pysanky
This pysanka is currently on display at the Time Gallery in East Peoria, Illinois. If you will to order a commission of this pysanka, please allow 2 weeks for delivery. This unique goose egg pysanky was decorated with a wax batik process. There are three ribbons intertwined on this pysanka representing the Holy Trinity. Traditional Ukrainian colors were used on this pysanka. Symbols on this pysanka include 8 pointed star for the Light of Christ, waves for for everlasting life and diamonds for wisdom. The egg is blown out and very light. It comes with a clear acrylic stand. It measures about 4 inches tall by 3 inches wide.
As always, each pysanka I create is made with love and prayers.
Each pysanka is coated with varnish to protect it from water damage. However, the varnish will not protect the egg from UV light or breakage. It is best to display your pysanka out of direct sunlight. Since the pysanka is fragile, it is also advised to place it in a safe place.
If you find the egg is “slipping” in the stand, use a small amount of wax (such as paraffin or candle wax) around the rim of the stand. This will keep the egg in place and it won’t harm the pysanka.
