Contemporary Trypillian Goose Egg Pysanky
This pysanka is currently on display at the Time Gallery in East Peoria, Illinois. If you will to order a commission of this pysanka, please allow 2 weeks for delivery. This unique goose egg was created using a wax batik method called pysanky. The design is an ancient pattern called Trypillian which represents the connections between God and nature. The color pattern is very contemporary. The egg is blown out and very light. It measures about 4 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. It comes with a clear acrylic stand.
As always, each pysanka I create is made with love and prayers.
Each pysanka is coated with varnish to protect it from water damage. However, the varnish will not protect the egg from UV light or breakage. It is best to display your pysanka out of direct sunlight. Since the pysanka is fragile, it is also advised to place it in a safe place.
If you find the egg is “slipping” in the stand, use a small amount of wax (such as paraffin or candle wax) around the rim of the stand. This will keep the egg in place and it won’t harm the pysanka.
