Hi, I’m Crystal Potthoff and I started my art journey in 2005 when I first learned the prayerful art of pysanky. This is the ancient art of batik on eggshell. The process uses real eggs (all blown out) and layers of wax and dye. During the wax application process, I am praying, meditating or listening. Writing pysanky is a spiritual and peaceful activity that keeps me focused on what is most important in my life - God, family and friends. I’ve also started creating mixed media pieces inspired by my faith.

I love the colors and textures created by mixed media painting. My works are inspired by my pysanky and these works also inspire new vision for my pysanky creations.
